Based in Irvine, CA, we are medical device startup that is revolutionizing the respiratory care industry. We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as we launch our first product in Latin America. We are open to candidates that are at Manager and/or Director level. We are looking for local candidates who can come to the Irvine office when they are not traveling.

Interpersonal relationships within the cross-functional teams: operations, manufacturing, R&D, quality and regulatory are as important as those in the field, and after a 30-day training program in the office, this person will be expected in the office on those days where they are in-country. This is a very exciting role as we continue to grow! We are interviewing today!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Direct sales of respiratory equipment to clinicians, administration and governmental organizations in target countries in Latin America. This will include daily contact via phone, email and other methods along with extended periods of travel and residence in the target countries and one-on-one interaction with these decision makers. Our goal is to generate relationships with these key decision makers to assist with market development and future research and development activities.

  • Develop relationships with key distributors in the Latin American market. Our goal is to generate a partnership with these distributors that includes working with them directly, in-country to ensure that our clinical message and approach is executed. Instead of management of a wide network from the US, this person will develop relationships that involve on-site presence as a partner in the selling process.

  • Develop in-depth projections, conduct pricing research and generally be the expert on each of our target countries. This will be driven by primary research in the market to provide first-hand knowledge of the target market supported by quarterly, written reports outlining lessons learned.

  • Partner with manufacturing and operations to ensure that all country requirements are met. We dont expect you to be the regulatory expert, but rather the project owner that makes sure all of the country requirements are met and that the devices reach our customers in a timely manner.

  • With management, negotiate the distribution agreements that will provide favorable terms to our company and provide a model for other regions.

  • Obtain and oversee the distribution of customer feedback to the appropriate departments to ensure product compliance and continuous improvement process.

What You Need for this Position

5+ years of experience in:

  • Latin American hospital market
- Medical device - respiratory a plus
  • Sales & Business Development
- 80% travel - someone who wants to see the world!
- Spanish fluent - spoken and written

  • Passion to make a difference and compete
  • Bachelors or Masters in Business / Biomedical
  • Compliance / Regulatory Affairs / QA
- International regulatory approval process medical devices - CE/MDR
